The most important point first: species identification is the responsibility of the seller and the buyer

Both the seller and the buyer must identify the mushrooms and berries in question themselves. The seller is responsible for selling only species they can identify with certainty — and the buyer inspects and identifies the product themselves before buying and using it. Some wild mushrooms are lethally poisonous, and toxic species resemble edible ones. If you cannot identify a species with certainty, do not sell or buy it.

Marjakori is not responsible for the products and acts only as an intermediary: we do not inspect products, we do not identify species, and we are not a party to the trade.

1. What Marjakori is

Marjakori is a listing platform where wild-produce pickers can list berries and mushrooms for sale and buyers can find them. We act only as a meeting place.

We are not a party to the trade. The sales contract is formed directly between the seller and the buyer. We do not process payments, store products or take part in the pickup.

2. Limitation of liability

We are not responsible for the accuracy of listings, for the quality, safety, origin or quantity of the products, or for whether a trade is completed. We are not responsible for disputes between users.

We are not liable for damage caused by eating, handling or misidentifying a product bought through the service. This applies in particular to mushrooms.

The service is provided as is. We do not guarantee uninterrupted operation and are not liable for damage caused by service interruptions or errors. In all cases our liability is limited to the minimum permitted by mandatory legislation.

3. Seller's obligations

The seller identifies the species they sell and sells only species they can identify with certainty. The seller is responsible for ensuring that their listing is truthful and that they have the right to sell the product. The seller is also responsible for complying with the legislation applicable to their activities — including food legislation, any notification obligation concerning primary production, and tax legislation.

In Finland, income from picking wild berries and mushrooms is tax-exempt under certain conditions. The tax treatment depends on the situation, and each seller is responsible for their own taxes. We do not provide tax or legal advice.

The seller undertakes not to sell protected species or products whose sale is prohibited.

4. Buyer's obligations

The buyer inspects the product before buying and is responsible for identifying it and assessing its fitness for use. The provisions of the Consumer Protection Act on trade between a business and a consumer do not apply to trade between private individuals.

5. User account and prohibited conduct

The user is responsible for keeping their account credentials safe. The following are prohibited in the service:

  • providing false information or impersonating another person
  • publishing illegal, offensive or inappropriate content
  • harassing other users or sending unsolicited marketing
  • collecting other users' data by automated means
  • giving false reviews or manipulating the review system

We may remove a listing or close an account without prior notice if the terms are violated.

6. Reviews

A review can only be given for a completed trade. The review is published when both parties have submitted a review or when 14 days have passed. Reviews must be based on genuine experience. We remove reviews that contain personal data, insults or inappropriate content.

7. Content and copyright

The user retains the rights to the content they publish and grants us the right to display it in the service and in marketing. Marjakori reserves the right to highlight listings and to share links to listings in its own channels and on other platforms, for example on the marjakori.fi Facebook page. The service's own content, software, logo and visual design are protected by copyright and may not be copied without permission.

8. Advertisements

Advertisements are displayed in the service. We are not responsible for advertisers' products, services or their content. Privacy in relation to advertising is described in the privacy policy.

9. Changes to the terms and applicable law

We may change these terms. We will announce material changes in the service. These terms are governed by Finnish law. Disputes are primarily resolved through negotiation; otherwise they are heard by the District Court of Kouvola. A consumer may also refer a dispute to the Finnish Consumer Disputes Board.

10. Contact

Questions about the terms: feedback and contact.
